Tungsten carbide bits are the easiest and most economical option for drilling holes in tiles.
With the tungsten carbide bits, the head with centering bit (ref. 04992) and an electric drill without a hammer, the setter will be able to make the most common and necessary holes in any tile covering without the need to make visible cuts.
Tungsten carbide drills always work on the unglazed side of the tile and, thanks to the centering bit on the head, no guide is necessary. The bits are dry cut, but it is recommended to slightly dampen the tile to reduce the generation of dust during drilling.
The average life of tungsten carbide drills is 100 holes and ALWAYS depends on the type of tile, its thickness and the correct cooling and use.
The drilling depth of tungsten carbide bits is 18mm.
Before making a new drilling we must make sure that the drill is clean and free of any obstruction or other material.

For a longer duration of the drill it is important to respect the proper turning speed and to exert moderate pressure while drilling. To obtain the best finishes, it is recommended not to completely perforate the tile and break the core from the glazed part.
